Photo Album   New York - Empire State Building The Empire State Building was designed by William F. Lamb and is located at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. The building is 1250 ft / 381 m tall (excluding the pinnacle) with 102 floors connected via 73 elevators and was completed in 1931 to become the tallest building in the world, a title it held for 40 years.
